The story has a nice twist (you play as "the bad guys") and even if it's nothing special is more unique than the bland Vesperia plot.The tale of a young hero on a quest for justice that captivated Tales fans returns to Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC with upscaled native resolution!ĭive into the Definitive Edition of Tales of Vesperia with updated graphics, amazing music tracks, exciting mini-games, bosses, and a collection of previously unreleased costumes! The graphics of both games are dated, Vesperia still looks better because it uses a full cell-shaded approach but most of the dungeons/cities have weak art direction (same with Berseria).īerseria on the other hand has a fun real-time combat system and even if it has a small cast all the characters are actually fun to play, making the combat better overall. Story is kind of generic, and while the main character is good but the other party members are kind of there, nothing remarkable, being a Tales of means that it still has amazing skits of course. If you are new to Tales of, you'll find the gameplay in Vesperia frustrating and dated, it was OK when the game was released originally but now we have lots of JRPGs with far better "modern" combat (all post-Vesperia Tales of, Xenoblade, etc.). Berseria is the best one IMO, it has fun combat (Vesperia is kind of painful at times), a better story and better characters.
